Information for Health Professionals

The Bubble Tasmania is a true passion project by Dr Natasha Vavrek. Dr Natasha is a Launceston local (born and bred) and has been a local GP in the area for over a decade. The Bubble Launceston opened its doors in April 2021 and The Bubble Hobart opened its doors December 2022. Opening The Bubble Hobart was an organic decision as Dr Natasha spends much of her spare time in Hobart with family and friends. She also studied in Hobart for five years.

She has a strong interest and passion in women’s health, especially supporting women through their reproductive journey. Her vision was for a clinic that would encompass all women’s sexual and reproductive health needs with a strong focus on pregnancy and management of the newborn, working collaboratively with the patients' own GP and local support services.

This clinic is a first of its kind in Tasmania as it offers science-based approaches to the common early life problems of breastfeeding, infant-care, and parental mood issues through the philosophy of Neuroprotective Development Care (NDC) or also known as the Possums Program. We are fortunate to have accredited doctors across both clinics.

If you are a doctor completing your NDC training and looking for a space to offer "Mums & Bubs" appointments, we would love to discuss how you may be able to join our passionate team.

We are always on the hunt for enthusiastic and passionate specialist GPs with an interest in women's health to join our team. We are also interested to hear from other allied health professionals that may be interested in sessional work within The Bubble.

If you are interested in finding out more about how our specialist women's clinic can work alongside your business, please reach out. We love to collaborate with like minded health professionals and there is no reason why we can't work together for the benefit of the community.

Referrals are greatly appreciated however it is not necessary. If referrals are received, we will aim to provide correspondence on any investigation, management or diagnosis. We hope to work collaboratively with other health professionals, especially GPs, in our small community.

MTOP referrals are given priority in the interest of assessing the patient promptly so it is important we know, either through the health professional or patient, as to why they are attending our clinic. We are happy to arrange ultrasound and blood referrals from our end, however it is greatly appreciated if already arranged by the patients doctor and this will allow the patient prompt management of their unplanned pregnancy.
