BreastScreen Tasmania provides a free screening mammogram every two years to women between the age of 40 and 74 years throughout Tasmania.
Breasts come in all shapes and sizes and will change from adolescence to menopause.
It is important to know your own breasts so you can tell if any changes occur. If you are at all concerned then you should speak to a doctor no matter your age.
If you have any of the above signs or symptoms, please make an appointment for a breast examination.
The Bubble women's health GPs will take a history and perform a breast examination. From there it will be determined as to whether you need a breast ultrasound +/- mammogram.
You cannot get a screening mammogram with BreastScreen Tasmania if you have any of the above symptoms. You must see a doctor for more extensive investigation.

BreastScreen Tasmania is part of BreastScreen Australia – a national breast screening program that aims to continue to reduce deaths from breast cancer through early detection of the disease.
BreastScreen Tasmania provides a free screening mammogram every two years to women between the age of 50 and 74 years throughout Tasmania. While women in the target age group are particularly encouraged to participate, all women over the age of 40 years are eligible for the program.
