Fee Structure

The Bubble is a private billing clinic – please ensure fees are paid at the time of consultation.

Medicare rebates can be electronically claimed by us at the time of payment for your convenience. We do not keep cash on site and prefer non cash payments please.

The Medicare rebate refers to the amount of money that the Australian government contributes towards the cost of your appointment. Your out-of-pocket amount is the difference between the full fee and your Medicare rebate.

Are you aware of the Medicare Safety Net?
Medicare has a safety net to help reduce out of pocket costs to patients for medical expenses. This includes gaps at the GP, medical specialists, surgeons, radiology and pathology. The threshold applies as a family group as per Medicare.
Once the threshold is reached Medicare will reimburse you 80% of out-of-pocket costs.

Therefore, the final fee for your consultation or procedure may vary depending on the specific doctor you see. Standard appointments

Psychology appointments

Please note for standard psychological appointments, an up-to-date referral AND mental health care plan from your GP is required to claim a Medicare rebate.
Non-directive pregnancy support counselling appointments require a referral from your GP, but a mental health care plan is NOT required for these visits. Available for patients who are pregnant or have been in the 12 months prior.

Focussed psychological strategies (FPS) appointments

Please note for FPS appointments, an up-to-date referral AND mental health care plan from your GP is required to claim a Medicare rebate.

Procedures
Please note that additional up front fees may apply if other unrelated matters are addressed during these appointments.
In most cases, the out of pocket fee will remain the same.

Medical termination of pregnancy (MTOP) appointment

Patients will need an ultrasound and bloods done prior to the first appointment. If not already done by their GP, an additional upfront $40 private fee will be charged for The Bubble to supply these referrals (this will be arranged at the time of booking).

Select doctors are able to provide a dating scan at the time of your appointment. Dating scans are $120 on top of your fee.

*This price excludes the cost of medication, which varies greatly depending upon your health cover (Medicare, HCC, Private insurance rebates).

Antenatal appointment
Please note that additional up front fees may apply if other unrelated matters are addressed during these appointments.
In most cases, the out of pocket fee will remain the same.

GP pregnancy care (shared care)
*Due to Medicare requirements, once you have reached 28 weeks gestation, there will be a one off higher upfront fee, however, the out of pocket cost will remain the same.

Dietician Appointments

*Patients may be able to claim their sessions with Dani through their private health fund depending on their level of cover.
